Hi All,

We know that 6men EGTB are 1.2 TeraBytes.
I would like to know how you store these 2512 files.
Is it network attached storage (NAS)?
Or is it direct attached storage (DAS)?
Anybody using Thecus N2050 or N2100?
Or Intel SS4000-E?
And what diskdrives? Experience with Seagate Baracuda 750GB?

A lot of questions,
I need your advice, TIA,
Marco de Boer

The stats since Nov 1 2006:
eMule 0.47c DL:95GB, UL:106GB (not 24/7)
TableWell DL:83GB
RunTbGen 7GB

Hi EnPlaisant,

I use 5 x WD 400 GB SATA drives, in RAID 5 array. RAID controller is an 8-port PCI-X Areca card.

If I was constructing it now I would use 500 GB drives naturally.

Hi EnPlaisant,
I use a linux machine with 4 WD SATA-1 drives. A 200GB for linux and 3-5 EGTB and just stuff, a 250GB for 3+3 and 4+2, a 200GB for 3+3 w/Pawns and a 200GB with 4+2 w/Pawns. I will upgrade the 33P drive with a 500GB when needed, and the 42P drive with a 750GB when required. Have completed and sharing the 3+3 and just started the 4+2. I have a machine I play engine chess with 4 Seagate SATA-2 250GB drives which is my backup. Good Luck on you drive space project. :)

Hi EnPlaisant,

I'm using two external drives, a 500GB Western Digital and the new 750 GB Seagate Baracuda. Both are running 24 hours per day for months now without any problems.

There's what I use, 5 USB 2.0 cases, and 2.0 hub. 300GB, 200GB, 250GB, 250GB, 250GB. $317 into my setup.

USB cases do both SATA or IDE, use all IDE.
