Wilhelm problem in KQPKQP

Post by Kirill Kryukov »

Hi all. I analyze this position in Wilhelm 1.50.0:

Code: Select all

2k5/2p5/1K6/7P/7Q/8/6p1/8 w - - 0 1
It gives me the analysis:

Code: Select all

White wins: win in 141
optimal moves: Kb6-c6 {#141}
half point losing moves: Kb6-c5 {=}, Kb6-a6 {=}, Kb6-b5 {=}, Kb6-a5 {=}
full point losing moves: Kb6-a7 {#-3}

1. Kb6-c6!! g2-g1Q! 2. Qh4-h3+!! Kc8-b8! 3. Qh3-b3+!! Kb8-c8! 4. Qb3-e6+! Kc8-b8! 5. Qe6-e8+! Kb8-a7° 6. Qe8-e7!! Qg1-b6+! 7. Kc6-d7!! Ka7-b7! 8. Qe7-e4+!! Kb7-b8! 9. Qe4-e8+!! Kb8-a7! 10. Qe8-g6! Qb6-b7! 11. h5-h6!! {Stalemate trap} c7-c6+! 12. Kd7-d6 Qb7-b8+! 13. Kd6-e7! a1-a1 14. Qg6-g1+! Ka7-a8! 15. Qg1xa1+! Qb8-a7+! 16. Qa1xa7+!! Ka8xa7° 17. h6-h7 Ka7-b6! 18. h7-h8Q Kb6-c5! 19. Qh8-e5+ Kc5-b4 20. Qe5-e2 c6-c5 21. Ke7-d6! Kb4-b3! 22. Kd6xc5! Kb3-c3! 23. Qe2-d1! Kc3-b2° 24. Kc5-b4 Kb2-a2° 25. Kb4-c3! {Stalemate trap} Ka2-a3° 26. Qd1-a1# {Stalemate trap}
Note the "13. Kd6-e7! a1-a1" and the line in 26 moves instead of 141. Can someone try this position?

After re-starting Wilhelm, it gives correct analysis.. Perhaps it got some memory corruption after running for some days here. My machine is very stable and uses ECC memory, so I don't think it is hardware problem.
