New engine release to test

Post by fabio_gobbato »

Hello everybody,

Today I have just published a new release of my engine. Could you kindly test it?
You can find it at this page http://www.g-sei.org/pedone/
The version is the 0.5, in the ccrl rating it should be between 2600-2700 ELO

Thank you

I started a gauntlet, but at least two out of every three games were lost on time by Pedone, so I had to stop.
Hope you can fix this soon. I have some debug files if they might help.

Graham.

A little bug. With OwnBook set to false you should not have other problems.

Found the problem. Doubleclicking on the exe gives an error message. That's why I have problems. This is on an Intel Q8200 quad.

I have sent at your email address a specific nopopcnt version. You shouldn't have problems with that. Let me know

Please, could someone test it.

Pedone_win64 is for hardware with SSE4.2 instruction
Pedone_win64_nopopcnt is for hardware without SSE4.2 instruction

I'm still having time loss issues with the last ones you sent me, so I'll try these latest compiles and let you know how they go.

Pedone 0.5 is playing in both Division 3 (TLCV port 16053) and a gauntlet (TLCV port 16063).

Hi Fabio,

no more time losses so far. The problem seems to be fixed.

Thanks,
Graham.

Hello! There is new version 0.67 of K2 chess engine.
Main differences compared with version 0.63 are:
- transposition table code rewritten, added capability to replace old entries;
- fixed bugs in function that tests legality of move from TT;
- PVS in root added;
Expected strength increase is about 50 Elo on long time controls. Unfortunately some bugs are still there, sometimes engine looses connection due to abnormal program termination, I am trying to fix them.
Engine executable for Win32 and source code can be downloaded from here, please use it for your testing.

Best regards,
Sergey Meus.

Wow, I just completed K2 0.57 testing in my mega tournament. Going to have to remove those and retest. Ouch!

Hi,
I thought I'd add Pedone to the mega tournament as well. Where can I find a compiled version that doesn't have the time loss issue?
