Testing for 40/4

Post by asanjuan »

Hi all,
I would like to test my own engine (Rhetoric) at time controls equivalent to 40/4.
I downloaded the Crafty Benchmarck and showed this:

Code: Select all

Crafty v19.17 BH

White(1): bench
Running benchmark. . .
......
Total nodes: 80680468
Raw nodes per second: 2988165
Total elapsed time: 27
SMP time-to-ply measurement: 23.703704
This seems that in order to run an equivalent TC for 40/4 I have to set 27/12 = 2.25 minutes.
Which TC do I have to set? 2min/40 repeating or 3min/40 ??

The closest integer is 2, but I want to be sure.
Thanks in advance.

Alberto.

Hi Alberto,

I would use 2 min/40 repeating if your GUI does not allow for the exact TC to be set (135 seconds/40 repeating in your case). 2.25 is close enough to 2.
