20th Amateur Series Division 6 (completed)

Post by Graham Banks »

20TH AMATEUR SERIES (Division 6)

Intel Q6600 Quad Core
ChessGUI
128mb hash each
3-4-5 piece tablebases
Ponder off
HS-Large Remis book (limited to 12 moves)
40 moves in 32 minutes repeating (adapted for the CCRL)
4 cycles 44 rounds
All engines 32-bit 1CPU
Thanks to Harald Johnsen for a script he wrote that makes it much easier for me to post round by round results and standings.
This will be the last series for NagaSkaki unless a new version comes out. The top two engines will gain automatic promotion, but there will likely be no automatic relegation. The third top engine and the bottom engine (perhaps others also) will play grading matches to determine which division they will play in for the next series.
Participants

Atak 6.7
Sungorus 1.3
Feuerstein 0.4.6.1
BlackBishop 1.0
Neurosis 2.5
Mediocre 0.34
Alex 2.03
NagaSkaki 5.12
KMTchess 1.2.1
TJchess 0.121
Ghost 2
FireFly 2.5.6

Hi, I don't know if this is the right place to ask, but I am new in this forum... I'm the brother of the author of Ghost and I just wanted to ask whether you managed to run Ghost with tablebases switched on?

Also, I have found a better setting which seems to improve Ghost 2's play by about 50 elo points (it seems to rank around the same strength as Comet B68). What is the policy on changing settings for an engine?

regards,
Michael

Hi Michael,

welcome to our forum. :)
Yes - Ghost had access to tablebases in this tournament.
Ghost is in Division 5 for my next series and this division will be starting in about 2-3 weeks time.
If you could either PM or email the changes to me, I will use them.

Cheers,
Graham.
