CCRL FRC Ratings List Updated - Stockfish 1.6, +87 ELO

The FRC (chess960) ratings list has been updated for Stockfish 1.6 x64
It shows an 87 ELO gain over Stockfish 1.5.1 and takes second place on the ratings list, just ahead of Shredder 12

All games were played under Shredder 12 GUI, and Stockfish installed and ran perfectly

Very impressive results! So far, looking good in my 40/40 gauntlet but only 40 games.

Very impressive indeed. Life is getting even more difficult for commercial authors. SF is now about the same strength as Shredder 12. We won't see another Shredder release for about 12 months probably, yet with SF we will probably see another couple of releases over the same period. As for Hiarcs - well Hiarcs 13 is already a little late, Hiarcs 12 was Dec 2008. Hiarcs is some 200 ELO behind Stockfish, and you have to wonder if Hiarcs has any chance at all of making up that gap, let alone being significantly stronger. Still, all authors now have the chance to study Stockfish code, and many are no doubt studying Robboloito, so ideas can be gained from those sources and anythng is possible.
