The Fritz 9 GUI hangs when trying to load Spike 1.2 Turin (Build 69) with 6 men tablebases.
The Arena debug window gives:
86.186-->1:setoption name NalimovPath value I:\4men;I:\5men;I:\6men
86.203-->1:setoption name NalimovCache value 10
86.203<--1:readyok
121.499<--1:*** I:\6men\kbpkbp.6.nbw.emd corrupted 1073741824 557981056 278990528
Thereafter the engine hangs.
Actually, the tablebase file is not corrupt as verified by Wilhelm.
If I remove this particular file, then the engine starts without any problem.
Anybody else observe the same problem?

Re: Spike 1.2 with 6men bases
I have the same problem with the KBPKBP tablebases and ChessBase 9! The program stops after a few seconds if those tablebases are present. I don't even have Spike 1.2!
Can you check if the KPPPKP tablebases cause the same problem?

No, I don't have a problem with KPPPKP. But I don't have ChessBase 9.Arpad Rusz wrote:Can you check if the KPPPKP tablebases cause the same problem?
Also, kbpkbp.6.nbw.emd is a problem only for Spike 1.2. Other engines work OK.

I had problems with Spike too. Not sure what is up, but I have downloaded a bunch of new ones and testing them all now.
