New Engine: Halcyon

Post by Nicholas Hamilton »

Hi all,

My name is Nik and I'm from the US. I've been working on my engine since early this year and would be interested in having it tested. Source code and executables for Linux and Windows are available at https://github.com/nhamil/halcyon/releases/tag/hc_1. On Lichess, Halcyon 1 tends to be rated between 2200 and 2300, and some initial testing suggests 2300 CCRL give or take a few hundred Elo.

If you would be willing to add it to some tournaments I would greatly appreciate it. I've tested the executables on fresh installs of Windows 10, Debian 11, and Ubuntu 22.04. If there are any issues getting it to run please let me know. Thanks!

Hi Nik,

I have taken note of your request and I've put your engine in y testing queue. I think I can start testing it in a couple of days if other things go as planned.

I was wondering if you had any updates on when there might be some results? Thanks!

Edit: I just noticed the blitz results, sorry about that!
