Editing a Chessbase GUI tournament to replace an engine

Post by Graham Banks »

EDITING A CHESSBASE TOURNAMENT

Open the tournament.

Click on the engine that you want to replace and then click on edit.

Select the engine that you want to replace it and set up the engine parameters, opening book and book options in that order.

Resume the tournament.
It will come up with a message that the tournament has been modified and is restarting. That's okay.

Once the first game is underway, stop it.

Go back into the database file.

Delete all of the newly created games.

Now go to the Edit menu and select filter games.

Type in the name of the engine that you replaced, choose from game 1, ignore colours and then click okay.

You should get the list of games for the engine that you replaced.

Now edit the game data of these games by changing the name of the old engine to the new one and by changing the results where necessary to no result.

Take a note of the number of the first game in the database that should be played to resume the tournament.

Open the tournament and click resume.

You will be asked for the number of the game from which the tournament should be resumed.
Enter it and click okay.

Your tournament is now back underway.
