7-men : all 43/43p EGTs created

Post by kronsteen »

Big news here :

https://plus.google.com/100454521496393 ... 5718/posts

See also :

Questions for the future :

- Distribution of newly created EGTs (43, 43p, 51)
- 43/43p WDL tables (more suitable for near-term widespread distribution & use)
- Distribution / use of new compression format – seems to be very valuable as it compresses 40% better than Nalimov, provided it doesn’t hamper too badly access time – could also apply to 3-6 men with full set shrinked down to 700 GB
- 52/52p creation
- 43-43p stats (tbs files). kqnkrbn should definitely be the 7-men longest checkmate winner with QN4n1/8/3k4/8/b1K5/8/8/6r1 b - - 0 1 (mate in 545)

I have seen it to be a 517 DTC, but do you have a link for that 545 DTM?

The link works for me.

In this file one can find 8/6R1/8/6N1/3k1K2/1B6/7n/7q w - - with mate in 1090 half moves, i.e. 545 full moves. The positions are different, so I don't know which one is correct. (They could both be.)

Thanks!
Do you know where this file comes from?

OK thanks syzygy!

Now I have no problem finding that
http://rybkaforum.net/cgi-bin/rybkaforu ... 24816;pg=4
but still cannot find your
http://rybkaforum.net/cgi-bin/rybkaforu ... 24816;pg=5
...simply because page 5 does not exist for me in that Rybka forum thread!!! :D
Why that page exists for you (and kronsteen) is a mystery...

Also, looking at
QN4n1/8/3k4/8/b1K5/8/8/6r1 b - - 0 1 (mate in 545)
and
8/6R1/8/6N1/3k1K2/1B6/7n/7q w - - with mate in 1090 half moves, i.e. 545 full moves
the 1st is Black to move, the 2nd is White to move.
So I suppose the "real longest" is the White to move...

Anyway, I find that 7-men subject fascinating.
I hope there will be soon a comprehensive report! (unless you know one that already exists!...).

Maybe clear your browser cache or try with a different browser?

If both are correct, they are both equally long. It is true that the side to move is different, but the colors of the pieces are inverted as well.

I think it simply has to do with the Posts Per Page option of the Rybka Forum. In my case, I have it at 70.
How much is it in your case? (maybe default is 60?)

Good remark! I didn't see that...
So apparently there are (at least) two KRBNKQN positions with Mate in 545 (for KRBN side to move)!

Ok, that explains. I don't have an account on RF, so I guess it's set to whatever is the default.
