Any 6-men DTC tablebases available

Post by govert »

As a mere mortal, what do I have to do to get access to 6-men DTC tablebases? Are they around? Or do they only exist on the hard drives of a select few?

That's a question I wanted to ask soon too. I'm also interested in DTC bases. Further questions are: Does anybody have DTC-6men which are accepted by the program Wilhelm? Has anybody ever done a combined DTM/DTC bases, which I assume to be less huge than the seperate DTM and DTC together and therefore would save storage capacity?

John Tamplin computed 6-man pawnless EGTs using Marc Bourzutschky's program GTBGEN, a generalised version of Nalimov's TBGEN, in which I believe MB also had a hand.

John and I published results about the DTC EGTs and the 'Nalimov-style' stats files are certainly available.

I suspect that some of the DTC EGTs do not now exist as John's muli-metric EGT site http://chess.jaet.org/endings/ no longer operates.

Marc must have generated many if not all 6-man EGTs to the DTC metric using Yakov Konoval's program. This works to the DTC metric rather than any other (e.g. DTM, DTZ) but the EGTs are not compatable with WILHELM, and are not available either.
