Quickpar the complete 6 men EGTB ?

Post by Sciolto2 »

I wonder whether any of you have any experience in backing up tablebases without actually making a copy. In my case I would need an additional 1,5 TB drive for all 6 men EGTB. On the current one there is more than 20% space left which I could use to store par2 files. I would probably have to generate these files during a few overnight sessions for groups of sets. Maybe my idea is not new and someone has a better alternative. Quickpar can be pretty slow to repair large sets and I belief this relatively old tool is really thrashing the hard drive during a repair.

Not familiar with par but will check it out.

I have 3-4-5 stored on 3 different drives, some 6men duplicated but most of my 6men are on just 1 large drive. So I hope it never dies lol. Drives are getting cheaper though so might pick one up on a good sell day for duplication.
