Where can I get tablebases?

Post by notnale »

Sorry, if this is an easily answered question in a FAQ or something. Where can I get DTZ50 tablebases and generators to play with?

Tablebase generators ...

Post by guyhaw »

The only generator that is (or was) around is Eugene Nalimov's tbgen ... and I'm not sure how 'current' that was in terms of providing for all the 3-3p and 4-2p endgames. It only works to DTM.

Marc B's gtbgen was only circulated amongst a small group, and I'm sure he doesn't intend it to be publicly available. That's the only code I know that does DTC, DTZ and DTZ50.

John T has (or had) DTC, DTZ and DTZ50 EGTs for all 5-men and '6-man P-less' endgames. These might be more publicly available in the future but there is no eta on this.

Looks like doing KRK DTZ50 with free software would advance the state of the art.
