How to install EGTBs ?

Hi!
How to install downloaded EGTBs, please?
I comprehended I have to move all *.nbw.emd and *.nbb.emd files to the directory and say chess program, where they are. Need they *.tbs files yet? And I couldn't find if I have to join tables which are divided to files named e.g. krppkr.0.nbw.emd, krppkr.1.nbw.emd, etc.

*.tbs files are just for research and verification purposes and are not needed by the engines. You can open them in a texteditor and check, what type of endgame it is.

Some of the larger Endgames are split into various files to avoid the size of one file exceeding a certain boundary. They should be left in that way.

There is no further installation required. You just need the right engines that support the endgames you have downloaded: In your case the Nalimov-format.

The actual installation depends on the GUI used, which GUI do you use? See the help manual of the GUI as a first reference.

For winboard engines, you may have to edit the ini file also. Which engines do you use?

I've got Fritz8, path to EGTBs is setup, simpler EGTB (4-pieces) works normally. I couldn't find, if I need subsequent EGTBs? E.g. when situation is krppkr, if I need only krppkr EGTB or all EGTBs, which start up from this after pawn changing (kqrpkr etc.). Or it is included into krppkr?

Perhaps Fritz8 cannot access 6men bases, I am not sure.

You need the subendgame tablebases only if you need to play till the mate. Anyway, kqrpkr is not included in krppkr. But krppkr is sufficient, to get the result of a krppkr position.

Depends on what version you have -- the original version cannot, but there's an update that adds the capability.
Standard Fritz Upgrade if I recall -- perhaps it was also included on the Turbo Endgame CD/DVDs
