Re: Missing .tbs files
Les, See what you can lift from ftp://ftp.cis.uab.edu/pub/hyatt/TB/tbs/ and then provide a list of which .tbs files you are missing. I have them all. I would expect this URL to provide all 3- to 5-man, 3-3, 4-2 and 4-2p .tbs files + most 3-3p ones [but obviously not the 'last 16' 3-3p .tbs files an...

Hi Les! If some TBS files are missing it means that simply I don't have them. If you will find them, please post here and I will put them to the web-site. Thanks! Hi Kirill, I will see what I can do but I hope they wont be to difficult to find. I will keep you posted as to what I find. Perhaps othe...

Some TBS stat files missing
I downloaded each link that said ALL under the sets of 6 piece EGTB's and after I counted them I was missing about 38 files. 32 positions of the 3-3 format didnt exist in the master(ALL) but 4 of the 32 were found in the individual list. 6 files in the 4-2 format were missing in the master list but ...

Re: 5-1 generation.
I was generating a 5-1 set using the feg.exe generator. It seems there was a problem w/ wine and after letting it burn away cpu time for 3 days it crashed. Though the file at the time was about 3gigs. Going to try this again on a windows box I built for chess. It's an old P500, but I can just leave...

Restating my question
Hi Les, as far as I know: # of files in 3 piece EGTB = 10 # of files in 4 piece EGTB = 55 # of files in 5 piece EGTB = 220 # of files in 6 piece EGTB = 2536 Most of this think information is available at EGTB Online page. (except the missing 6-men sets). Hi Kirill, First I want to apologize for not...

Re: wtm and btm broken positions
Les, If your argument was correct, the number of wtm and btm broken positions would be the same for a given endgame. It very rarely is. Your mistake is that a wtm position in KRNKPP is a 'KRN'-to-move position: switch colours to KRN=Black, and you have a btm position in KPPKRN (which is equivalent ...

Re: Be assured ...
I believe you have all the information you need to understand this, at least a lot better, from the cited paper, MB and myself. I think the short answer is that Ps feature more in the 'last 16'. There is no missing 'Broken position information': if it is not in the .tbs file, you can assume 'zero b...

Still confused re EGTB's
Going back to my several posts and the replies I am still a bit confused as to how just 3 positions that Mark generated as referenced in one of my earlier posts does not show the Broken positions with BTM?? I thank the guys that tried talking about Eugenes indexing stuff but to the best of my knowle...

Re: Kirill I still havent seen any comment about ....
... I had also mentioned that 3 egtb's that Mark made available to us ... dont show the Broken positions for BTM. I had posted the 3 positions [endgames - gh] in my prior post. Les A slightly unfortunate feature of Nalimov-style stats is that if there are no index-entries of a category, the line is...

Kirill I still havent seen any comment about ....
Hi Kirill, Regarding my previous post I had also mentioned that 3 egtb's that Mark made available to us have all the stats for both BTW and WTM but they dont show the Broken positions for BTM. I had posted the 3 positions in my prior post. Perhaps someone out here can tell me why this is so. Thanks,...

Few more questions with these 16 egtb's (Mark?)
I just finished looking at all 16 egtb's that Mark was generous enough to generate and have a few questions. As mentioned in anearlier post there is no BTM data for kppkpp and hope that someone here can resolve if we can get that info. Secondly the following 3 egtb's have all the data except the las...

Re: The 16 "missing" Nalimov files
I have created the 16 missing Nalimov tablebases for 33p endings by conversion from Johan de Koning's FEG data. I was reading this page: http://www.aarontay.per.sg/Winboard/egtb.html#chessmasteredgb It mentions that the Koning egtb only stores wins from the white point of view. Will this effect the...

Is this right ??
Hi Mark,
Listen I just took a peek inside one of your tbs files (KPPKPP) and see that it only lists the stats for wtm, win or lose but no stats for btm win or lose. I checked with the 4 piece EGTB KPKP and it has both sides to move stats?? Can you explain Mark? I would appreciate it.
Thanks,
Les

Re: The 16 "missing" Nalimov files
I have created the 16 missing Nalimov tablebases for `3.8 Ghz machine, but the other endings will run a lot faster. I have decided to run verification on all the endings to minimize the chances of repeated file exchanges. All the verifications were successful. Attached are the .tbs and md5sums for ...

Hi Mark, ...... Is there any chance if these 16 come out ok that you would be willing to generate the 5-1 tbalebases along with their TBS files?? It would be important to me for sure to support some of my research in EGTB's. I would think that except for the KPPPPK tablebase that the others should ...

Hi Mark, Super job nice work! Listen when do you expect these 16 TB's to be verified for correctness? I have been studying the data from the TBS files and am very much interested in the results of the TBS files and not the actual tablebases. I guess until all 16 of these files are verified for corr...
