Current status of the statistics for 6 pc EGTB's

How do we stand as far as the correct statistics in a format similar to Eugenes .tbs files? Have the issues been resolved as far as what is causing the decrepencies. Be interested in hearing any feedback here in this forum.

Thanks,

Les

Looking for update for stat files

Dear Guido, at present I have generated 38 of the 70 EGTB with 5-1 men, including kqqppk with two pawns. Since I had trouble uploading to Kirills ftp area, my uploads are somewhat behind. I had so far two endgames which caused trouble: kbbbpk and knnnpk. After taking two weeks for generating the po...

Question for Martin

Hi Martin, Listen I was just wondering if there is a way of working on your stat files in such a way that I could convert them into a format that would look like Eugenes stat file format? I am doing a very intense study on EGTB's but need the stat files to be in a format like Eugenes stat files. Hop...

Stat files for your 7 piece EGTB generated positions

Do you think you would be able to supply me only the stat files and if so will they be in the Eugene formated tbs format?

Thanks,

Re: Further 5+1 endgames

Hi all, I have computed five additional 5+1 egtb over the weekend: kqrrrk, krrrbk, krrrnk, krrrpk, and kqbbbk. The stats files are attached. I do not know whether I read them correctly, but possibly there are some longer mates (>20 moves) in krrrpk. Hi Martin, I assume the stat files for these like...

Re: Size of 5-1 EGTB

Dear Kirill, dear Guido, the computation of the endgame kqqqpk is now finished, too. It took about 1 day. The 9 endgames have the following sizes: kqqqqk: 55.7 MB krrrrk: 61.4 MB kbbbbk: 129 MB knnnnk: 156 MB kqrbnk: 990 MB kqqqrk: 106 MB kqqqbk: 129 MB kqqqnk: 130 MB kqqqpk: 395 MB So, the total s...

Hi Josh, Hey that is really great you attempting to generate these 5-1 files. For my personal self Josh as I explained in previous postings I am only interested in the *.tbs stat files. Thank you so much for giving this a go and whenever you find time send me the *.tbs stat file. Looking forward to...

Re: re 5-1 EGTB statistics

Th ese results are quite reasonable, especially if there were many like pieces in the ending, as FEG does not implement permutation symmetry until the final compression stage. -Marc The egtb I had generated was knnnnk. Thanks for clearing up the size problem for me. Once things settle a bit I'll pu...

Re: KQQQQK

I generated KQK, KQQK, KQQQK, and in the process of generating KQQQQK *crossing fingers* if it doesnt crash I'll share the egtb. One thing I noticed that might be a problem, it's creating a lot of small files. Last count was over 12k files. So wondering if it's crashing because it's hitting the max...

Hi Guido, Listen I am only interested in the 5-1 stats (tbs) files for any of these positions you have. Looking for an update

Hi Josh,

I was just wondering if you have looked in your closet <s> to see how the generation of the 5-1 egtb's were doing. I was also wondering if anyone had supllied you with the info you mentioned you needed to get the generation going?

Thanks,

Les

Hi Josh, Just doing a follow up with you as to how you made out in looking into possibly generating the 5-1 egtb's?? I know some time ago you were mentioning that if Eugenes code could be used you might give it a try. My thoughts are that most of them should converge fairly quickly. Just curious, L...

Re: KBPKN etc stats

The correct stats for the Nalimov DTM KBPKN EGT are attached. Why did it happen? No idea, but the effect can be seen in the stats. Counts of broken positions, wtm losses and btm wins were ok, of wtm wins and btm losses were too low, of draws were too high. The correction came on request from Eugene...

Re: Checking .tbs files

I haven't been checking the .tbs files from the beginning as (a) I assumed they were ok [wrong] and (b) I didn't know the index-ranges were in the Nalimov TBGEN source-code until someone told me. However, when John T rang Marc B's GTBGEN to produce DTC/Z and DTZ50 EGTs for 6-man pawnless endgames, ...

Re: EN DTM EGT .tbs stats 'rollover' problem

There certainly was a time when some counts in the Nalimov .tbs-creation program would go 'over the top'. I for one detected it when using the 'redundant check' of comparing the total of win+drawn+lost+broken positions with the integer range as defined in Eugene's code. I think it first happened in...

Rollover problem

Some time ago I remember that there was an issue of some numbers in some of the tbs stat files actually were large enough to roll over. I seem to remember 3 if my memory is correct but we were far from completing the generation up to the 6 piece egtb's. Is anyone aware of this problem and since this...

Re: Funding coding ..

The offer from 'kp' of funding for work on 7-man EGTs is most welcome. IMHO it would be best directed to the team of Yakov Konoval in Oreval and Marc B in the USA who are well into 7-man work, repeatedly breaking records, and contemplating generating 7-man P-ful EGTs. Note that they are using the D...

Hi Guy,

Thank you so much for those files!!! You are very resourceful. Now all we need is to stay on top of Josh in hope that he is able to generate the remaining 5-1 egtb's.

Thanks again Guy,
