Actually, UPX and pklite don't access compressed data directly. They unpack the executable into memory first, where it is then executed in its uncompressed form. ok, fair point, but there is still the only needing one colour thing (unless you're generating bases) which halves tb storage requirement...

thanks for care, bur I am afraid I cannot use it . At this date at least I have no program installed on my new system to read Excel spreadsheets. if you have word, you can view (but not alter) the spreadsheet as an imported table. if you have wordview (from microsoft, for those without word or docvi...

just a note. emule will not deliver all 299 3-5 man tables. i have the complete set, and emule keeps not sharing 5 of them (kbk black, knk black, krkr black kqkq black and krkp black) because it considers them duplicates. in sense of content, emule is right - byte for byte, these files are identical...

damaged file check

for those interested, checking for damage in files using either md5 or datacomp is only checking for pyhsical errors. for errors in the table itself (incorrect generation), such as the one wilhelm picked up from chessbase, the only way to pick it up is to use the .tbs file with wilhelm. this will al...

some misinterpreted facts...

a long, long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away... oh wait, wrong saga. this is a seriously long message, so if you aren't in the mood for a balanced argumentative read, skip this one. Neither Shredder 8 or Fritz 8 can use 6-man tablebases, so I am not surprised that you have not seen a problem. Sh...
