Re: FEG <-> Nalimov stats conversion cracked

Q2. I'm currently downloading 5-1 tables from Kirill's ftp site to serve as the basis for more extensive checks of my tbgen2-generated files. However KBBPPK_B.J08 and KQQQNK_W.J02 are missing. Martin K. - can you upload these again? john Hi John, due to professional and private activities (new job,...

Hi Les, yes, indeed generation of the 5-1 EGTB is finished. However, due to a lot of work, I have not been able to start a systematic study of the statistics (e.g. maxdtm, maximal lines etc.). I think that the egtb are freely downloadable from Kirill's ftp account, so please feel free to work with t...

SUCCESS!

Hi all, now I have computed and posted the final five EGTB of type 5-1, namely KQPPPK, KRPPPK, KBPPPK, KNPPPK, and KPPPPK. They are on egtb51, complete with stats files and md5sums. My next plan is to use the files to do some "higher level statistics". Guy: Thank you for the corrections an...

5 new egtb

Hi all, now I have posted 5 new EGTB of type 5-1, namely KBNNPK, KBNPPK, KRBPPK, KRNNPK, and KRNPPK. They are complete with md5sums and stats files, as usual. Now 65 EGTB of type 5-1 are posted in total. For the remaining five, I have already computed two and estimate that I will be finished in abou...

4 new EGTB

Hi all, now I have posted four new 5-1 EGTB, namely KNNPPK, KQBPPK, KQNNPK, and KQNPPK. They are complete with md5sums and stats files. Altogether 60 such EGTB have been posted now. I am in the process of posting the next 5. Les: At the moment I do not see a clear way to transform the FEG statistics...

Hi Les, all the files are on the account egtb51 (see the first page of this thread) provided by Kirill (thanks a lot!). As mentioned in my post, I have now finished the computation of 65 of the 70 EGTB with 5-1 men, but so far I have posted only 56. The rest will follow soon. Greetings, Martin Kreuzer

next 5 EGTB

Hi all, now I have posted the next five 5-1 EGTB, namely kbbppk, kqbnpk, kqrnpk, and krbnpk. they are complete with stats files and md5sums, as usual. Altogether 56 EGTB have been posted now. I have already computed all 65 EGTB with at most two pawns and the five EGTB with 3 or 4 pawns are under way...

Further maxdtm stats

Dear Guy and everybody interested, attached I post the maxdtm statistics and sample positions of the endgames you asked for. Before discussing them in detail let me briefly address some of your remarks: a) Do you have any knowledge of the FEG indexing scheme? b) Do you know how FEG compresses the fi...

maxdtm stats

Hi Guy, Guido, finally I had time to examine some of the 5-1 EGTB I computed. Here are some maxdtm results provided by FEG -LL. The positions are attached. First some general observations: a) For pawnless endgames, the symmetry group is D_4 (8 elements). As both of you noted, not all orbits have 8 e...

Re: kqrrnk

Hi Derek, congratulations on generating kqrrnk. Indeed, as you know form the messages I posted further up, I have computed this EGTB quite some time ago. It would be interesting, however, if you could compute the md5sums of your files and check them against the md5sum I posted on egtb51. In this way...

6 new EGTB

Hi all, now I have computed (and I am almost finished posting to egtb51) six new endgames: kbbbpk, kbbnpk, kqbnnk, kqrnnk, krbbpk and krbnnk . They are complete with stats files and md5sums. The total count of posted endgames is now 51 (out of 70). Three more endgames (kbbppk, kqrnpk and kqbnpk) hav...

Hi Josh, nice to hear from you again. My computation of the 5-1 EGTB is in the final stages. I have already computed 6 more (kbbbpk, kbbnpk, kqbnnk, kqrnnk, krbbpk, krbnnk) and I am in the process of computing 2 more (kqrnpk and kbbppk). I will be posting notifications as soon as I get them uploaded...

Hello Guy, there were actually more than 96 positions, but FEG stops listing them after approx. 100. For instance, there was a "partialy printed" position No. 97 which I deleted. I will try to redo the computation and let it run to the end but there will probably not be more than the first...

KBBBK max DTM position

Hi Guy, Guido, attached I post the max DTM positions for KBBBBK which I extracted from the databases using FEG -LL For wtm, the DTM seems to be 13 and there are more than 100 positions (FEG lists only the first 100 or so) For btm, the DTM seems to be 16 and there are 8 positions. In the Christmas br...

stats files for FEG 5-1 EGTB

Dear Guy, attached I am posting the FEG stats files of the 40 EGTB I computed so far. There are 3 files for each endgame. The most interesting one should be the *.log file. The description of the format is in FEG.TXT which I posted above. The EGTB themselves are on Kirills ftp account whose url and ...

2 new EGTB

Hi all, today I have uploaded two new EGTB: knnnpk and krrbpk . They are complete with stats files and md5sums. Guy: the *.log stats files are in the directory /stats on egtb51. I would be most interested in "ply to mate" statistics which do not take symmetries into account and simply enum...

7 men Nalimov EGTB

Hi Arpad, I believe that it would not be too difficult to adjust the Nalimov code so that it computes endgames of type 4men against 3 men. One could also use Guido's program to precalculate the expected sizes, in oder to choose "doable" endgames first. However, I do not have the c++ knowle...

Dear Guido, at present I have generated 38 of the 70 EGTB with 5-1 men, including kqqppk with two pawns. Since I had trouble uploading to Kirills ftp area, my uploads are somewhat behind. I had so far two endgames which caused trouble: kbbbpk and knnnpk. After taking two weeks for generating the pos...

Further computations

Hi Derek, thank you very much for your offer to help with 5-1 EGTB generation. Possible targets of your computation could be: (1) kqrnnk, kqbnnk, and then (using the endgames kqqnnk and kqnnnk which I already posted) also kqnnpk. (2) krbnnk, and then krnnpk (using kqrnnk from (1) and the endgames kr...

The total number is now 26, all of them with stats files
and md5sums.
