Hi EnPlaisant, I use a linux machine with 4 WD SATA-1 drives. A 200GB for linux and 3-5 EGTB and just stuff, a 250GB for 3+3 and 4+2, a 200GB for 3+3 w/Pawns and a 200GB with 4+2 w/Pawns. I am new to Tablebases and have started using the few i have on playchess.com. I have uploaded 30.51GB so far mostly from what i have downloaded. Average Uploadrate:41.4KB/s on a 384KB/s Up Connection with the limit set at 44KB/s. Have downloaded 32.36GB and have a computer working on the project 24...

I play engine chess and have the following question about what EGTB cache size to use. 1. Is the tablebases cached or is an index file cached? 2. I need one set to complete the 3+3. I have started on the 4+2 but will ask for the 3+3p as you suggested.
