Stockfish Benchmarks

I am trying to collect Stockfish nodes per second data from the computer chess community and I hope to get plenty of volunteers. The information will be useful for comparing computer chess results between computers. I have created a package that can be downloaded at http://www.mediafire.com/file/3iv...

Re: Draw and stalemate (1/2 - 1/2 result) analysis

Hi, I'm new to this site and would like someone's help navigating the ccrl games. What I'm looking for is a qualitative breakdown of all the 1/2 - 1/2 games the computer played. How many of them were White stalemating Black? How many were Black stalemating White? How many were draws by 3-move repet...

I just realized, after trying - and failing - to find a chess engine names Gabor, that you were talking about the people, not engines! (Incidentally, there IS an engine named Adam.) Hi, this is Adam the person, not the engine  You could add either Komodo CCT or Komodo 5.1 MP to your tournament...

Hi all, I would like to test my own engine (Rhetoric) at time controls equivalent to 40/4. Maybe it is an incompatibility. It is using 4 cores for me (Xeon cpus).

Re: Question about testing ...

What book do you use with cutechess-cli Adam ? I generally use starting positions, but recently I used Marc LaCrosse's varied.bin (a Polyglot book) for the Houdini 3 40/40 games that I submitted. I want to create a good Polyglot book for CCRL testing, but I have not taken the time to make an attemp...

Re: Question about testing ...

I actually use cutechess-cli much of the time now. It takes about as much time to set up a tournament as it does with LittleBlitzer (may be a little longer), I can use Winboard engines (unlike LittleBlitzer), and the pgns include all recorded moves.

Of course, I still use Arena with the Also-Rans.

Re: Question about testing ...

I want to test on LittleBlitzer GUI because I can have multiple games in the same time. 1. But with Littleblitzer if you set an opening book, the game is recorded from the last book move and not from the beginning. Is this a problem for CCRL rating ? It is a problem if the games were to be submitte...

Hi Graham, Adam, Shauwn, I have a favor to ask. Could you guys be so kind to put ProDeo 1.8 on the CCRL rack also? From the CCRL data I get: CCRL 40/4 ProDeo 1.81 2703 (1244 games) ProDeo 1.74 2593 (1115 games) From the CEGT data I get: CEGT 40/4 ProDeo 1.8 2526 (1700 games) ProDeo 1.81 2507 (2522 ...

Re: CCRL 40/40 Testing Conditions

Hi: Quick question. I think the answer is obvious, but I just want to make sure. When you use the tablebases, the GUI takes over for the engine, correct? Because stockfish does not have tablebase support built-in, while Houdini does and I was wondering if this could affect the ELO rating. If the ta...

Re: Chess960-FRC Setup Data is Excellent

CQL definitely does not read the FEN string. If you do the following position search: (match :pgn BBNRKNQR.pgn : output file.pgn (position Ke1 ) ) CQL finds the king at e1 in all 118 games. If instead you try this: (match :pgn NQRKRNBB.pgn : output file.pgn (position Kd1 ) ) CQL outputs 0 games, eve...

Re: Chess960-FRC Setup Data is Excellent

My own lack of knowledge of FRC castling was also holding me back with CQL. I know where the king and rook end up after castling, but I wasn't sure about the range of squares that each could come from to achieve the new positions. What was your script for the above ? Just looking for the "afte...

Re: Chess960-FRC Setup Data is Excellent

It appears that CQL does not understand castling in Chess 960. In fact, I am not certain it reads FEN strings. I tried it out and the PGN it produces from the query does not contain the FEN tag. The PGN is meaningless without the FEN tag. The only information I can derive about castling from the FRC...

Re: Adding a new engine to the lists

Daniel,

AdroitChess 0.3 will be included in the CCRL 40/4 lists at the next update (Saturday). Its rating will be ~2100 Elo.

By the way, what is your nationality? We normally list the nationality of the engine author.

Thanks,

Adam

Re: Adding a new engine to the lists

My prediction, based off of a epd test suite I am working on, is ~2050 Elo. Unfortunately, my error bars at this time is +/- 250 Elo. Chesley r323 is leading 6.5-1.5 so far, so your estimate is probably fair. I am going to include it into my ongoing Also-Ran tournament. I will start a 100 game gaun...

Has anyone created an Arena setup guide for CCRL Testing Conditions?
