Re: 3x4 chess is solved
Nice work, Kirill! I only want to suggest a new subject to you. Although it is very interesting to see this small chess with many pieces, I personally would be rather more interested in a topic that is related more to our standard chess: Some endgames on boards of other sizes than normal. E.g. Queen...

Re: Any 6-men DTC tablebases available
That's a question I wanted to ask soon too. I'm also interested in DTC bases. Further questions are: Does anybody have DTC-6men which are accepted by the program Wilhelm? Has anybody ever done a combined DTM/DTC bases, which I assume to be less huge than the seperate DTM and DTC together and therefo...

Re: Steinar H. Gunderson
Is this download site reliable? How can I make sure I have the correct files? If the md5 sum is correct how sure can I be then?

50 moves rule
Why is this forum getting more and more contaminated by this stupid 50-moves-rule?? This rule has absolutely nothing to do with chess. It´s only there to keep human over-the-board-players alive in some cases. It´s just an aid like the chess clock. Without the clock a single game could take a whole w...

Re: Yearly Where are the 7-men Thread
...Of course, such positions occur rarely and I am not able to decide whether to buy or not. How much time does generating the database take? Is it feasible on a single processor machine? Would it be possible to analyse positions of the type: 3R4/2n5/2P5/2k5/r7/2PK1B2/8/8 w ?
Hi Dh...

Re: Yearly Where are the 7-men Thread
To get a fist survey of the features of Freezer you should look through the website of Freezer. There are severals examples and an instruction (see "examples" and also "download"). Comparison of Freezer and Wilhelm: Wilhelm only can use your available Tablebases (definitely up to...

Re: Yearly Where are the 7-men Thread
Hi, so far I used to visit this forum as a guest. I see some problems to generate 7-men with Freezer. First of all there's a limit in database seize. You can't generate databases with more than about 500.000.000 positions. It's a very low limit I think. I don't know the reasons for this, but I think...
