Re: 3x4 chess is solved

This is very interesting! Thanks for posting. What position has the mate in 85 ply? The longest checkmate line (43 moves) is now posted now on the project site . Enjoy! May be you can understand what's going on there? (Also, do let me know if you notice any error). :-) Wow, thanks! It's still unbel...

Re: Finally... I have joined the complete 6 men club!!

I'm only about half way there and had to stop downloading and sharing a month ago because my ISP threatened to cut off service due to excessive downloads. Starting next month I have a 250GB monthly limit, so I plan on restarting my downloads/sharing. To help me get a handle on how much bandwidth I'm...

5-1 Tablebases available?

After a month or so of downloading 6-man tablebases, I have about 500GB, so I'm making good progress! Although I won't be downloading them until after i finish with the other 6-man tablebases, are the 5-1 files available anywhere? Also, what is the file size of the 5-1 files?

Regards,

What is Marc Bourzutschky doing with tablebases now? Is there any way to build on what he has already done?

Re: utility for testing tablebases integrity

Thanks. I'll try that when I get back home tomorrow. I thought I was using version 1.50, but maybe not.

Re: utility for testing tablebases integrity

How did you finally get Wilhelm to work in Vista64? Thanks! Thanks, tried to install Wilhelm using the following link http://home.datacomm.ch/kruandr/Wilhelm.zip But no luck to install it on my Vista64 system. Some error messages on German that I can't understand. First one: ------------------------...

Re: Generating 7 Pieces

The website offering Nalimov EGTs and implying that 7-man EGTs are going to be available some time soon is, I agree, irritating. Well, I thought offering the 7-man tablebases for $250,000 was entertaining and informative! Of course no one actually thinks they are available, and no one is grabbing f...

Re: Share Your Tablebases

any position that involves a pawn MUST, by definition, also have had the engine access ALL of the dependancies of that particular pawned table, so for kppkpp endings EVERY 3v3 6man, 3v2 5man, and ALL 3 and 4 man tables have been accessed, whether or not the game ends at 6 man. I have to disagree wi...

Re: Share Your Tablebases

Question about downloaded files: All of the files I've downloaded have "[content.emule-project.net]" embedded in the file name. Why is that? If I take that out of the file name (which you have to do to use them) will they still be shared?

Thanks!

Re: emule

Hi Mark! Welcome, and happy downloading! Your download speed is usually limited by the speed at which others can upload. So there is little you can do to speed it up. 1. Get high ID. 2. Use up to date server list. 3. Use latest official eMule client. 4. Share as much as you can too. 5. Invite more ...

emule

Hi all- Recently started downloading the 6-man tablebases via emule. It seems to work great. Many thanks to those who arranged for this! What type of download speeds should I be getting? (I didn't do anything special to try to get a high ID or pick specific ports, etc.) Anyway, it looks like I'm get...
