Re: http://kirr.homeunix.org/... not working?

Kirill Kryukov wrote:It's because I am on vacations and my server is turned off. Normally it redirects to the new hosting. :-)
I think it would be better to provide a warning to change to the new link, rather than automatic redirection.

I also used my favourites and thought the site was down!

Re: CQL

Hi Guyhaw, I don't think it would be difficult for someone who is familiar with programming. There is also Visual CQL, which makes it easier, see http://www.volny.cz/evcomp/vcql.htm. Anyway, here is a simple CQL file which will find all 6men position games lasting for at least 10 moves of players wi...

Re: Occurence of EGT'd endgame in over-the-board play

Hi Guyhaw, I hope you are familiar with CQL: http://www.rbnn.com/cql/. You can use it to search any big database with the required criteria. If not, I can help in constructing a suitable query. Since there are plenty of 6man games (even more in 7 men), you will have to restrict by number of moves wi...

Re: Which tablebases actually help engine performance the most?

But what about 5-1 or 4-2 endings or like KRPKPP? It is intesely unlikely that Rybka will fail to recognize that this is a win (when it is a win) or that she will play it inacurrately. Despite the fact that this ending is apparently common I don't think I want to include this TB since using it will...

Re: Which tablebases actually help engine performance the most?

According to the FAQ at the Rybka website: http://www.rybkachess.com/index.php?auswahl=Rybka+3+FAQ >>Is it useful to load 3-4-5 Nalimov tablebases in Rybka 3? >> Yes, slightly. Re: 7-men EGTB Bounty

Hi Kirill, An excellent idea, as long as we are able to fi(u)nd a sufficiently attractive "bounty"! Some thoughts: If we change the metric from DTM, the existing 6men Nalimov tablebases will go waste? And all these efforts at distribution? As I understand it, the tablebase data is free, bu...

Re: AnMOn & Tablebases

With 6 man bases, the engine startup time is about 2 to 3 minutes. Hence I was unable to start an engine match in Arena, as Arena waits for only 20 s for a ready OK message and then restarts the engine. In Fritz GUI, the first engine will lose the first game on time, but after that it is OK. Regards...

Is there a web site or that Freezer program? http://www.freezerchess.com/ Hi, so far I used to visit this forum as a guest. I see some problems to generate 7-men with Freezer. Re: Hoffman endgame tool

Hi Michael, Thankyou for the link! Do we need another tablebase? No, unless it is open source, and free to use by all. Hoffman cannot make use of 6men bases, I think. Hence an engine which can utilize the 6men bases would be welcome. I had made a request to Franz Huber for incorporating this feature...

No, I don't have a problem with KPPPKP. But I don't have ChessBase 9.

Also, kbpkbp.6.nbw.emd is a problem only for Spike 1.2. Other engines work OK.

Re: How to install EGTBs ?

Perhaps Fritz8 cannot access 6men bases, I am not sure.

You need the subendgame tablebases only if you need to play till the mate. Anyway, kqrpkr is not included in krppkr. But krppkr is sufficient, to get the result of a krppkr position.
